The Brazen is book three in the Alliance of the s series. This is probably my favorite book in the series yet, though I still have one more to go. I would suggest reading these in order, due to the books revolving around the four s. Each book has one of the s as the main character and you learn their story and how they met/end up with their love interest.

Gina Himmel, the Air is sent to San Francisco to protect a tech wizard. After shadowing him for a few days, she finally makes her move and we're introduced to Zach Hanson. A hunky, geek that makes groundbreaking technology that if it falls into the wrong hands could be catastrophic. He's a genius, and oblivious to almost everything else around him. After hiring Gina as his bodyguard, events start occurring that makes him realize he actually needs a bodyguard. The interaction between Gina and Zach kept my attention, I felt like they were drawn to each other and slowly realized they were meant to be together. Their characters really meshed well, without being a picture perfect Disney type of relationship.

The main character, Gina, is a strong character that I think a lot of people will connect with. She is more of a physically stronger type of woman but emotionally she still has hang ups from being teased/bullied as a child. It broke my heart when she was faced with that type of comments again in one of the scenes in the book. I'm just really glad that Zach was there to reassure her. She's still a tough lady though, don't get me wrong.

I'm not sure how, but Sandy James manages to mix in a bit of everything and make it work. I love the fight scenes and that the characters and world are fleshed out nicely. There's never a dull moment in the life of the s and I can't wait to start reading book four, The Volatile . This series is amazing, and I highly recommend it.

For all her experience in battle, Gina's a novice when it comes to dealing with sexy brainiacs like Zach. The attraction is mutual, but Gina believes it's a mistake to get involved with the man she's supposed to be guarding. Luckily for her, Zach doesn't agree...

The Alliance of the s series just gets better and better! The Brazen features a tech geek with the desire to be something more and a tomboy who deserves a man who sees and appreciates her for who she truly is. Zach is brilliant, and his immersion in the tech world doesn't keep him from accepting the magic-filled world Gina lives in. Gina, in turn, is confident in her position as an , but sexist ex-coworkers and preconceived notions of what it means to be a woman have made her vulnerable when it comes to her personal life. As a pair, Gina and Zach are dynamite and I adored them together (though I admit Megan and Johann from The Impetuous still have the number one spot in my heart). While Gina and Zach fell in love a bit too fast to feel completely organic, I was happy to follow these two wherever author Sandy James led them.

The Brazen is the third book in the Alliance of the s series, and I definitely recommend reading The Reluctant and The Impetuous before diving into Gina and Zach's story. Ms. James continues to build on the world she has created and the developments in The Brazen that have an impact on the series' overarching storyline are fantastic. I can't go into detail without spoiling the story, but I will say that there are some great twists and turns in this book that remind me why I fell in love with this series in the first place.

A host of secondary characters help further bring The Brazen to life. I enjoyed revisiting Rebecca, Artair, Megan, and Johann, and the updates Ms. James wove in about their lives were delightful. The changelings Beagan and Dolan continue to be my favorite characters in the series and this time around I actually liked the goddesses, Ix Chel, Gina's patron goddess, in particular. The most important supporting character was, however, Sarita, the Water . Like Megan and Rebecca in the first two books, Sarita and Gina are particularly close. It was such a pleasure to learn more about Sarita and Gina in The Brazen and with the way things are shaping up, Sarita might just be my favorite of them all. I finished The Brazen wanting to dive right into Sarita's book, The Volatile , but sadly I have to wait until it's released. I'm looking forward to the final confrontation against the "big bad" of the series and though Ms. James hasn't said who Sarita's hero is, after finishing The Brazen I have my fingers crossed for a certain someone.

The Brazen is unique, interesting, and wholly entertaining. I can't wait to see where Ms. James takes the s next!

I loved the whole series!!!
I have read the first 2 books in this series and I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Brazen . I was not diappointed!! I enjoyed being able to go on Gina's adventure with her as she learned how to open her heart up to the man she loves. As always, Sandy James had me laughing aloud and sitting on the edge of my seat. I could hardly put the book down til I was done! I can't wait for Sarita's story to come out in a few months!
I loved this series of books, I think the author did an excellent job of bringing the characters to life.
I read book one in two days, book two in two days. Now it only took me another two days to read book three. at this rate I'll. read the series in about a week.
